Artist narrative: I made the nervous transition from Realism, to what I call Freestyle Expressions, when I began to sense the ineffable in every expression of nature I wanted to paint. Ineffable means too great, powerful and beautiful to be expressed.  So it wasn’t long until my composition moved from controlling definition to awe of the ineffable. In sports,  freestyle  pushes the envelope of conventional restraint on competitive technique.  But art isn’t restrained by convention.  My expressions join a community of artists who venture past the veneer of first impression to capture reflections of a universe where all life is of ineffable beauty and purpose
