Ann Miletich
Ketchikan, Alaska, artist Ann Miletich works primarily in watercolors and collage- often pasting elements onto her paintings. The use of collage adds a three dimensional effect on many of her paintings and accomplishes something else important to her: "It forces the viewer’s eye to look at different areas of the painting."
Inspired by the landscape and beauty of Alaska, nature dominates her paintings. Recurring themes in her work include glaciers, Alaskan landscapes, and fish. Though she could be considered a landscape painter, Ann takes a more abstract approach as she strives to capture the feeling of a place, not necessarily the place itself.
She has won numerous awards and considerable recognition including an exhibit at Seattle's prestigious Charles & Emma Frye Art Museum.
