Wild by Nature

A self-proclaimed 'fish enthusiast', Julienne Pacheco, of Wild by Nature, has been captivated by the aquatic world since childhood despite growing up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She spent hours gazing at books on the ocean and drew sea creatures repeatedly, fascinated by this foreign world.

Her love and appreciation of wild places stemmed from nights out in the yard with her family, sandwiched between blankets starring up at the stars, to later building trails amidst the towering 14,000ft peaks in Colorado. Julienne came to Alaska as an AmeriCorps volunteer for the Juneau-based program SAGA (Southeast Alaska Guidance Association), educating at-risk youth while teaching them work and life skills. During her inaugural year she fell in love with beauty and awe of Alaska.

She rerouted her life to attend the University of Alaska Anchorage learning emergency medicine and outdoor education. Life lead her back to her initial passion for the aquatic world and to Juneau where she received her BS in Marine Biology from the University of Alaska Southeast.
